My name is Maja Kotala and I've started a platform which aim is to support the youth from around the World.
My dream, is to give a voice to those who can’t be heard.
And there is no better way to do it than trough music .
I am working on opening a music studio Amplify . in Mombasa and Nairobi and give a chance to local communities to express themselves. The goal is to showcase traditional instruments and talents , create a possibility to learn more and to work with different artists from around the World to create music never heard before.
I was invited to see the Bemus Band this year and had amazing opportunity to experience the sound and talent, with hope that as Amplify. we can create some magic together in a near future.
Bemus is a platform for art performance that focuses on improving self-esteem through artistic expression. Bemus is derived from a Greek word which means “Platform’’. Bemus offers platform and mentorship program to talented and skilled youth in the community. Bemus was established in 14th February,2015 in Huruma, Mathare constituency by Simon Otieno with the purpose of providing a safe haven where talented and skilled artists can participate in more comprehensive programs of art to promote both individual and society wellbeing.
