As part of our collaboration, a T-shirt "Serwus Siostro" ( Hey Sister ) was made.
My favourite part ? Beautiful details at the back : leather tag with Sewing Together logo and inner tag with descriptions of the action ! So So Happy
Menstrual poverty is unfortunately a huge problem in Africa. Due to the lack of access to hygiene products, young girls often use leaves, feathers, paper or even sand. Often times, it also ends up with many girls dropping out of school during their menstrual period. This results in a lack of education and often even expulsion from school. As you already know, as part of helping Kenyan women, Sewing Together sews and donates reusable sanitary pads to those in need.
By purchasing the "Serwus Siostro" T-shirt, you support the campaign against menstrual poverty. PLN 23 from each purchase goes to the Sewing Together project, and in addition, Pan Tu Nie Stał donates the off cuts from their production to sew sanitary pads.

I znowu mamy powód do radości. W ramach walki z ubóstwem menstruacyjnym, udało nam się nawiązać współpracę z marka z Lodzi o oryginalnej nazwie Pan Tu Nie Stał.
W ramach owej współpracy powstała koszulka z przewrotnym napisem ”Serwus Siostro”.
Ubóstwo menstruacyjne to niestety ogromny problem w Afryce. Przez brak dostępu do środków higieny, młode dziewczyny często używają liści, piór, papieru czy nawet piasku. Często kończy się to także tym, że w okresie menstruacji wiele dziewcząt przestaje chodzić do szkoły. Powoduje to braki w edukacji, a często nawet konczy sie wydaleniem ze szkoły. Jak już wiecie, w ramach pomocy kenijskim kobietom, Sewing Together szyje i przekazuje potrzebującym podpaski wielorazowego użytku.
