Hi! :)

My name is Maja Kotala , I am a founder of an educational program called Sewing Together .

Created in 2018, with one goal only - to teach women in East Africa, who couldn't afford education, a skill of designing, sewing and business of fashion and to help them find independence in life.

My dream is to create and equip a self sustainable work places across Africa and showcase local talents.

I have now successfully completed the course in Uganda - Kimuli Fashionability and in Kenya at Nairobi Girls Training Center with Salvation Army.

Regardless of the 2020 difficulties, with Mwambanga Mwashimba we opened in October a temporary Training Center for Women in Nyali Mombasa.

In January 2021 I opened a permanent Sewing Together place of creation in Bamburi: EKotala School for women .

In September 2021 Sewing Together joined Haart Kenya and together we have created a vision to support and assist women in Kenya through economic empowerment.

In September 2022 I have joined forces with SisterHoodie Tanzania and we have incorporated elements of Sewing Together program to their school in Mtae, in Usambara Mountains.

In November 2022 together with Unaweza Foundation we have opened a sewing place next to the Beyzym Hospital, in Madagascar.

In March/April 2023 I have organised first Victoria Rally

EKotala School For Women

- is situated in Mombasa, Kenya. It gives an opportunity to young women from around the county to have a second chance in life, by giving them education . School named after my father is now a permanent place of Haart Kenya Sewing Together. KARIBU !
