WHY I DO WHAT I DO
I do what I do because I believe skills can change the direction of a person's life.
I know what it feels like to start from zero, to have someone believe in you before you fully believe in yourself, and to discover that one opportunity can open an entirely different future.
Fashion gave me that opportunity.
Now I want to pass that possibility on.
I chose to work with women because I have seen what happens when a woman gains a skill, earns her own money and realises that she can build something for herself. And I believe the impact rarely stops with her. It reaches her children, her family and, sometimes, an entire generation.
I chose Africa ( or Africa chose me ), because it challenged me, changed me and eventually became home. I don't want to tell stories about African Continent from a distance. I want to live here, listen, learn, collaborate and share the stories I encounter — the complicated ones, not just the easy ones.
I also want to move away from the idea that Africa needs saving.
I don't believe my role is to come with answers.
My role is to bring what I know, stay curious, listen to what is needed, and create something together.
